Is Emma Hayes' presence a real jinx, or just a coincidence? What's your take on this?

International management has its various advantages. One task remains the manager’s wish to attend any games she or he likes. And Emma Hayes is in that spirit right now, attending multiple NWSL matches. With the USWNT having matches against Iceland and Argentina, she wants to pick the best possible players out there. However, there is a bizarre catch.

Whenever she attends the home matches of the playing team, the home team loses. Some may say it’s the Emma curse, or some might say the better team won. This started transpiring in the last seven days and Courtney Stith mentioned it on X. Chicago lost 1-3 to North Carolina. Think of the great players like Andrei Shevchenko, Fernando Torres, Álvaro Morata, and Romelu Lukaku, who all succumbed under pressure.

Hence, the Emma Hayes jinx took over the NWSL and fans reacted to the USWNT manager’s appearance. Most soccer fans don’t want her near the club, fearing becoming the next victim.

“Hope she’s in Orlando tonight, the Spirit need a boost with that depleted lineup,” this user wanted Emma Hayes to be in Orlando to provide good spirit for Washington. With Trinity Rodman out injured, Emma Hayes’s black magic could do wonders, one might say. Sadly, the Orlando Pride won the match and lifted the Shield.

One user posted, “The city of Orlando just told me that they’re closed today,” ahead of their penultimate game against Washington Spirit. Another fan echoed a similar sentiment ahead of the crucial tie. “She can stay out of Orlando,” the fan demanded.

“Shoutout to her for skipping the Pride game!,” said this user, who stuck to the narrative of the Washington Spirit and Orlando Pride match. This was one of the many tweets where the users begged her to stay home.

The curse might end soon because Hayes wants to pick the right players. If not, oh boy, all these curses would come to fruition and somewhat become a double whammy for the USWNT boss. Can we have some freedom for Emma, please? She at least got us the gold medal after 12 years!
