It has been a fantastic journey in soccer for Gareth Bale. The Welshman has enjoyed a mix of a stellar career, after playing for the likes of Southampton, Tottenham, Real Madrid, and MLS side, LAFC.

The speedy winger has said goodbye to soccer just at the age of 33 years with a glittering trophy cabinet. Bale won 17 titles, including 16 with Real Madrid, and one player of the year award during his Spurs days. The Wales skipper had 186 goals and 137 assists in 554 games throughout his domestic career.

While for his country, Bale had 40 goals and 22 assists in over 111 games. He also carried his side to the semi-finals of the 2016 Euros and helped Wales qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

His stats may not be convincing enough, with the former Madrid man staying off the pitch due to injuries. He also had a knack for golf and has been playing since then. Many reckon he enjoyed his time in Golf more than in soccer. Yet, we must not forget his amazing career on the domestic as well as the international front.

Bale’s return to soccer

It hasn’t even been a week since Bale hung up his boots, with news emerging that he might return to soccer. Wales manager Rob Page wants Gareth to get himself into the international framework.

“I would love him still to be involved in some capacity, what that role is I don’t know yet,” Page said.

“We’ll make a plan moving forward because he’s got so much to offer. Even his presence in the dressing room, the hotel environment is something I would be really keen on to keep him involved, but I’ll leave it up to Gareth and what suits him and his family. I think he would be keen as well.”

The 48-year-old urged Bale to follow in the footsteps of Thierry Henry, who is also involved with the Belgium national team. “You’ve seen Belgium do it with Thierry Henry. Ex-players stepping up, whether it’s a coaching role, an ambassadorial role, or being part of a committee making decisions. “

The gaffer believes he can play a crucial role for the Football Association of Wales and hopes they will give him a role in some capacity.
