The 2022/23 National League season saw Wrexham winning the title. In turn, they received a promotion to the EFL League Two after 15 years. Dubbed a humongous achievement, fans and players cannot wait for the new season to arrive in five days. However, they will miss the irreplaceable Paul Mullin after suffering from a devastating lung puncture injury. When Wrexham played Manchester United in a pre-season friendly, the star forward suffered a nasty collision with goalkeeper Nathan Bishop, which left him gasping for breath.
The two players collided, which left Paul on the floor. Therefore, owner Rob McElhenney came out to give a striking update. Having Mullin would be critical for the team’s success, but he will miss up to six to eight weeks. Thus, Rob provided the latest information regarding the injury.

Rob McElhenney provides an injury update about Paul Mullin
In a recent interview, Rob McElhenney stated, “He [Paul Mullin] is okay. I just texted him this morning. He is in San Diego, and he’s going to come up and stay with us for a couple of weeks until he can leave and head back to Wales.” As he suffered a punctured lung, it wouldn’t be advisable for him to travel without complete rest. It’s no surprise that Rob helped the player because the owners have always treated their players as family.

Therefore, Mullin will return after some time, but the season starts on August 5th. The opening soccer game will start their campaign against MK Dons in what would be a sell-out crowd at the Racecourse Ground. The players are ready, and the boss Phil Parkinson prepared his players well during the friendly matches during the US Tour.
Mullin will probably miss around 12 games for Wrexham because of the long recovery process. But the squad is nowhere near a one-man team. They have crucial games to look forward to.

Is Wrexham aiming for a back-to-back promotion?
The one thing on everyone’s minds is the club’s ability to play at a higher level. Despite coming out of the National League, Wrexham has solid players within their squad. Aaron Hayden, Ollie Palmer, Elliot Lee, and Ben Tozer can provide a sparkling moment anytime for the Welsh soccer club. As the transfer window is still open, more players can arrive to improve the squad. They also have the pulling power to attract sensational players.
