Going into their previous fixture against Bologna, AS Roma would have expected to come out victorious. But the club did not get the sharpness it needed during the whole game, which led to its player Renato Sanches being taken away in just 18 minutes of his play. With a surprising move by Jose Mourinho, the coach has come and stated an apology to the player and explained his reason for the decision.
The Portuguese boss is known for his no-nonsense attitude. Contrarily, as a coach who always backs his players during the game, Mourinho’s move came with a lot of frustration. But ultimately, the former Real Madrid manager felt sorry later and came to apologize for his harsh decision.

Both teams were similar in creating chances, but the lack of energy levels proved decisive for La Lupa, which was also the reason for Sanches’ 18-minute exit. After being subbed in after halftime, Renato was taken off in the 64th minute because he did not meet expectations.
The coach explained later that Sanches always puts in the hard work and time in training but has lost his intensity. Also claiming that he has only done this to two or three players before this, the former Manchester United coach felt it wasn’t a good idea to continue with Sanches as he was frustrated. Mourinho himself is a bit annoyed with Sanches and his injuries.
