It’s a wrap for Jose Mourinho at AS Roma. Hours ago, the revered Portuguese coach was forced to part ways with the Italian side after getting sacked. While the soccer fraternity continued to react to his shocking exit, ‘The Special One’ decided to sign off with a distinctive 10-word message. Roma’s poor run forced the Serie A side to cut ties with the veteran. After Giallorossi announced his sacking, the gaffer also had some words to convey to his beloved fans.
Jose Mourinho took to social media and posted a video that had a montage of pictures of all his precious moments. With Andrea Bocelli’s song ‘Nelle tue mani’ (Now We Are Free), he wrote a caption that read, “Sweat, blood, tears, joy, sadness, love, brothers, history, heart, eternity.” Indeed, his message raises a diverse set of thoughts from everyone.
Notably, Jose Mourinho arrived at Stadio Olimpico in May 2021. Although his contract was about to expire at the end of the season, Roma still decided to replace him with club legend Daniele De Rossi as an interim coach. The last nail in the coffin seems to be the recent loss to Milan. This setback comes on the heels of a disappointing stretch, a mere victory in six league matches, which brought them to 9th place with just 29 points. Roma’s elimination from the Coppa Italia against Lazio earlier this week also contributed to his exit.
