However, one Dutch insider has trolled him for making the move. He even mentioned that the 33-year-old midfielder had joined the club at the wrong time.

The statement is certainly going to raise the eyes of several experts. Despite the comments, Jordan Henderson will look forward to a fresh start back in Europe after his adventure in the Saudi League.

Jordan Henderson receives criticism for moving to Ajax

After not settling well in Saudi Arabia, the England international is back in Europe. However, Dutch expert Marcel van der Kraan is not impressed with the timing of the move. He said, “When you look at this Ajax side, that’s the worst side in the history of the club. In a hundred years, the club was never at the bottom of the table. They were never knocked out of the cup by a bunch of students from an amateur side. They never had so many changes in history.” 

The Dutch expert also pointed out that the only thing working for the former Liverpool midfielder is, he is now close to home. He also added the prospect of playing in the Eredivisie would have excited him. But, the sad reality is that Ajax is in trouble on the pitch. They are currently 5th on the table. It is an underachievement considering fans expect them to compete for the title.
