No one had a better night than England superstar Jude Bellingham, with the player’s heroics helping his team stay alive in the Euros. England were on the verge of getting knocked out in the Round of 16 at the hands of Slovakia, with their opponents trailing till the 95th minute of the game. However, Bellingham had other plans as he turned things around with an outrageous bicycle kick to the closing seconds of the regular time to equalize for his team.

Bellingham’s was what England needed to turn things around. Harry Kane marked his arrival on the scene with a powerful header in the opening minutes of extra time to shut the door on a penalty shootout. From there, it was smooth sailing for England as they maintained their control, securing a place in the knockouts.

While most fans were impressed with the Real Madrid superstar for helping England escape from the jaws of defeat, there was a section of people on social media who claimed England would not be in the situation if Jude Bellingham had performed well throughout the game. This did not sit down well with NFL icon JJ Watts, who quickly jumped in to defend the English star. Notably, a fellow NFL star jumped in as well.

JJ Watts shields Jude Bellingham from unsavory comments

A section of fans on social media were not impressed with Jude Bellingham despite his heroics against Slovakia. However, Burnley co-owner, JJ Watts, took to his X account to defend the English star from criticism following the game. Replying to a fan who criticized Bellingham, Watts stated, “Man scores a bicycle kick in the 95th minute when the squad needed it most to literally save their tournament and still catches hate. Gotta love social media 😂🤦🏼‍♂️”

NFL legend Tom Brady was also in awe of Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham as the Birmingham City owner took to his social media to praise the players after they found the back of the net for England.

Although Kane and Jude did struggle for most of the game, the duo delivered when it mattered the most, and at the end of the day, nothing but that counts.
