Didier Drogba could have played for France?
While talking about possibilities, Drogba said, “I’m born in the Ivory Coast and moved to France when I was six. Grow up in France…I’m also French, and I’ve got both passports. I had the opportunity to choose, and I decided to choose to play for Ivory coast… but in this case, I believe you play where your heart is, the number one thing for me is to decide where my heart is, the most and it was Ivory Coast.”
This is not the first time Drogba has talked about France. He once said, “No, I have no regrets [about not playing for France], I arrived in France at the age of five. I was always a fan of the team Platini at the time of the 1986 World Cup… But I am proud to play for Ivory Coast and to have been born in Abidjan… The choice of Ivory Coast always seemed natural.”

Didier Drogba once made a statement when asked about the impact Lionel Messi has on soccer. Although he praised Messi, he also didn’t believe that Messi is the greatest of all time. Talking about who the GOAT is, he said, “Messi could stop now and he would already have done a lot for football. To win a World Cup would make him even more legendary. He’s an extraordinary player! He’s still not at the heights of Maradona and Pele, but he’s not far away.”
He also described a situation when Chelsea was going to face Barcelona. Before the match, Chelsea manager Di Matteo named Messi among the players to look out for. Drogba described that they were laughing because while players in 2nd and 3rd positions had 14 and 13 goals, Messi was topping the list with 63 goals. He said that they could do nothing.
