The USMNT reached the Round of 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. They beat Iran in a massive Group B clash and qualified for the next stages of the competition. Christian Pulisic scored the game’s only goal to settle the score for the US side. They dominated the game for 90s minutes and deservedly won all three points, enough to finish 2nd in the group. After the game, their star winger, Tim Weah, opened up on shutting down the team’s critics who doubted their abilities.

Christian Pulisic was unstoppable from the left wing and caused some big troubles for the Iranian defense. He finally broke the deadlock in the 38th minute to score an insane goal. however, he got injured while scoring and was replaced after half-time.
Pulisic sacrificed himself and did everything to get the ball over the goal line. But that is something any of the US players would have done. After the game, the team’s star winger Tim Weah expressed his thoughts on Pulisic’s goal and talked about US’ critics.
Tim Weah responds to critics of the USMNT
Sin former Balon d’Or winner Robert Weah, Tim, started in all three games for the USA in the world cup so far. After the win over Iran, Weah talked about the notion that ‘the US could play good football’.

Indeed, the USA has been one of the best-performing teams in the world cup. However, their biggest worry has been their attack. They scored just two goals in the competition. Their first goal came against Wales when Tim Weah opened the scoring in the 36th minute. However, Gareth Bale’s late penalty denied them a win.

The USMNT’s second game vs England ended in a stalemate. It was a dull draw as both teams failed to make it to the score sheet. Pulisic’s winner vs Iran was US’s second goal in the competition. They surely need to work on their finishing before the massive Round of 16 clash against the Netherlands.
