It has only been a couple of years since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney brought the Welsh Club Wrexham AFC. The club was struggling both financially and in performance. New owners have since brought a new sense of life to the club. This season saw them becoming a behemoth of the National League.

The Welsh club has now ascended to EFL II breaking an exile of 15 excruciating years. Fans stood in awe of this goliath of a soccer team as they broke countless records this season and finished it with 111 points. However, this fate almost didn’t come to the Red Dragons.

In the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, the owners talked about how they feel like they felt connected. A small detail they left out is that they almost went for a different team and the world wouldn’t have known Wrexham as they know it today.

Talking about how fate favored the Welsh town, Stelling said, “It’s 100% true that they wanted to buy Hartlepool and it’s ironic they went for Wrexham in the end who are going into the Football League when the club who was their first choice, which was us, are going out of the Football League. It’s gone now though. There’s no point in regrets.”
