Real Madrid will lock horns with Liverpool once again on Tuesday. It will be the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16. The game will be a repeat of the last year’s final in Paris. Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti, while speaking to Sky Sports, gave details about the availability of the players for the game. He also spoke about the rival manager Jurgen Klopp and his friendship with him.

Ancelotti, who was manager of another Merseyside club, revealed some details about his Liverpool days. While speaking about Klopp, the Italian revealed a special gift given by the German to him when asked by the reporter.

A reporter asked Ancelotti about the special gift received from his friend Klopp during his Liverpool days. The Italian replied“I bring it to him when he comes to Madrid. We have a good relationship. We spent a year and a half together here in Liverpool during the pandemic. We texted, and he gave me gifts. It’s true. He’s a very lovable person”. 

An electronic cigarette,” the Italian replied when asked what was the special gift. Apart from his friendship with Klopp, Ancelotti also talked about his players and the game. Both teams are struggling with the fitness of the players and come into the game with notable absentees of Toni Kroos, Aurelien Tchouameni, Luis Diaz, and Thiago Alcantara.

Benzema is back for the Whites after an injury scare, and Ancelotti confirmed his presence in the game. Klopp will also have forwards Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino at his disposal. Overall, it will be a great game as both the teams are on the back of a morale-boosting victory at the weekend.

Meanwhile, in a build-up to the game, a video surfaced on social media. The video shows some Liverpool fans giving a noisy welcome to the traveling team in the early hours of Tuesday.

Liverpool fans set fireworks outside Los Blancos’ team hotel

Some mischievous Reds fans lit fireworks outside the team hotel of Real Madrid. The fireworks ended after over 30 seconds. The timing of the fireworks is a concern for the Madrid fans. Liverpool fans tried to wake up the Los Blancos players with some fireworks at 2 am on the matchday.

It was not the first time Liverpool fans did this. In 2019, they did the same to Barcelona players. Liverpool won that game by making an incredible comeback from a disappointing first leg at Camp Nou. The Merseyside club won the Champions League that year.
