“It’s Physical, Emotional, and Intellectual Wear and Tear” – Gerard Pique’s Ex Shakira Considered Giving Up Her Music Career Back in 2017

Shakira has composed some of the greatest music tracks to date. Over the years, the Latin American star has become one of the most popular singers in the world. The fans cannot imagine if Shakira announced her retirement from the music industry one day. However, there was a time when she contemplated giving up her glittery music career.

It’s important to remember that she is also a mother of two children. While Gerard Pique kept traveling for his soccer games, the Colombian singer started feeling the burden of being alone at home with the kids.

Back in 2017, the 46-year-old spoke about how she found it extremely difficult to manage her personal and professional commitments.

Shakira felt like giving up her music career!

In an exclusive interview with Hola, Shakira once revealed the struggles that she faced on a regular basis. In the span of around two years between 2013-15, Shakira gave birth to both of her children. The Latin American star used to often get her elder son, Milan to watch soccer games. The fans were also used to seeing Milan accompany his mother for a few FC Barcelona games.

However, a few years after Sasha was born, Shakira found it difficult to manage the house alone. While in conversation with Hola, she said, “I never thought it’d be so difficult, because it takes a lot of your energy. I think of my family a lot; I’m concerned about them all day. It’s physical, emotional, and intellectual wear and tear”. She claimed that motherhood was the ‘hardest’ job that she’d ever done.

The Colombian star also spoke about trying to manage her music career during that phase. She said, “Thinking of making an album seemed like a Herculean task, like climbing Mount Everest”. She then concluded by saying, “Family is the most important thing for me; the rest is secondary”.

Believe it or not, Shakira has proved to the world that her family is the most important thing to her.

Her kids are her everything!

Shakira was happily living life with her family when she gave this interview back in 2017. However, just a year ago things took a sharp and steep turn in her life. The Latin American star was shattered after she got to know about Pique’s disgusting act of infidelity. She immediately parted ways with him and tried to start afresh with her two children. The one positive throughout this phase was that her fans were always by her side.

In December 2022, Shakira managed to get legal custody of the kids. She is now reportedly planning on shifting with them to Miami. On her way out of Barcelona, Shakira has also slyly taken her revenge against the former Barcelona defender by releasing a diss track that indirectly insults his actions of the past. Shakira’s fans have now made life miserable for Gerard Pique in Spain.
