The last few days have been tough for Xavi as a manager and as a person. After the embarrassing loss against Villareal, the Spanish coach announced his decision to leave the role of Barcelona manager at the end of the season. The Manchester City manager, Pep stated, “We cannot compare the pressure in England to Spain, in my experience. It’s 1,000x tougher there. Six press conferences a week, a lot of games. The pressure you feel in Barcelona is not comparable to anywhere else.”

The show of support from Pep Guardiola comes amid Xavi revealing the reason behind the decision. When the Barcelona head coach was asked about the sudden decision, he said that the club needs a new dynamic, and he also pointed out that the pressure on him was also affecting his family. Hence, he had to decide to step down from the role.

During his time with the Spanish giants, Pep Guardiola would have succumbed to the same pressure. As far as Xavi is concerned, it looks like the team is working hard on convincing him to reverse his decision.

According to reports, the Barcelona squad is trying to continue his stay at the club. The player leading from the front is veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, who was one of the signings this summer. It also added that the Polish international highlighted the point to the Spanish coach that the players, including him, are to be blamed for the poor form.

Notably, Xavi was the only reason why the 35-year-old left Bayern Munich and joined the Culers. Hence, it is not a surprise that the forward is making an effort from his side to get things back to normal.
