“It’s Like the Army” – Now Entangled in Messy Split, Shakira Detailed ‘Husband, Boyfriend, Baby Daddy’ Gerard Pique’s ‘Strict’ Nature Back in 2021

Things have turned quite sour between Colombian singer Shakira and soccer veteran Gerard Pique. What was once a much-revered couple in the eyes of the public met its doom unexpectedly after Pique’s infidelity. A few months before their messy breakup, the singer had revealed how important punctuality was to the La Masia graduate. Further, Shakira admitted that most of the couple’s fights would happen if her former partner was asked to stay up late at night.

While being a man of his word and time, Pique’s public reputation has taken quite a hit after Shakira released a series of diss tracks targeting the Barcelona veteran.

Shakira reveals Pique’s relationship with time

In 2021, the Colombian singer made an appearance on a podcast, Planet Weirdo. During the interview, Shakira stressed the importance of time management in the lives of stars. She also admitted that Pique is very strict and particular about time management. Much of his punctuality could be attributed to his life as a soccer star and his pre-set schedule at FC Barcelona.

On Planet Weirdo, Shakira stated, “My poor husband, slash boyfriend, slash baby daddy, whatever you want to call him, he has to wait up for me so long. He’s tired of waiting up. Cause Colombian time is not the same as Catalonian time or Spanish time,”  as reported by ET Canada.

Talking about Pique’s thought process, the 46-year-old reiterated, “He’s very strict, very punctual. He’s been brought up in a football team where he’s a team player and he has to be [punctual]. It’s like the army,”

In retrospect, little did it matter after Shakira caught Pique’s infidelity red-handed after coming back from a work trip.

Among many rumors for the reason behind the split, Shakira employing detective-like skills to catch Pique will always remain a good story for the internet. According to the claim, the Colombian had come back from a work trip and noticed that some of her jam was missing from the kitchen. Upon asking her kids about the jar, her children denied eating the jam. Shakira then cornered Pique, who didn’t like jam either, and eventually confessed his secret relationship with Clara Chia Marti.

Since then, things have seemingly been going downhill for the soccer veteran. His ex-girlfriend is also rubbing salt in the wound, humiliating him through her diss tracks. On the other hand, Gerard Pique is trying to start a new life with his girlfriend. Recently, the new celebrity couple secretly went on vacation escaping the paparazzi completely. Similarly, Shakira looks for a new home in Miami to stay away from the limelight.
