Ever since the season began, they have been playing brilliantly and have aced all kinds of tests so far. After a flying start, they are finally close to advancing to the EFL League 2.

All the praise in the world isn’t enough to sum up their season’s success. Following an impressive win yesterday against Yeovil Town, the club is just a few baby steps away from clinching promotion. They have been getting a lot of pats on the back, and it even enticed the opposition’s captain to hail Wrexham.

Rival team’s skipper hails Wrexham

Yesterday, Wrexham thrashed Yeovil Town 3-0. The win for the Red Dragons led to the away side being relegated. This must be a sad moment for Yeovil, however, that hasn’t stopped their skipper from praising the Reynolds’ side.

After the match, Yeovil skipper Josh Staunton gave a 14-minute speech, where he heaped praise on Wrexham. “This is an example, this place, about football can do. If you wanna get everyone onside, this is the model,” he said.

“I feel like no one’s gonna have the luxury of the Hollywood surrounds back in the background but this shows out if you do things right, if you have transparency put professionalism, allow football people do football work, and build structure and places.”

“This shows out what we can do, because this place, five or six years ago, was a shadow of what this place is now. This is a fantastic place to be, they seem to be doing everything right. I mean it’s hard not, it’s hard not to like em. I’ll be honest, when you look, like I saw Ryan Reynolds after the Notts County game, who’s a class. It was impressive to say at least,” Staunton added.

With just two games left, the Dragons will be looking to finish off the season on a high note. They need just one win in any of the remaining fixtures to secure the long-awaited promotion. The first one is at the Racecourse Ground against Boreham Wood. On the other hand, the last fixture is on the away turf against Torquay United. Hence, Phil Parkinson’s side will be looking to clinch a win in either of them.
