The pre-season friendlies have arrived, and Wrexham is looking to get their players fit and ready for the 2023/24 EFL League Two season. They arrived in the USA with much fanfare. After the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary aired on screens, people loved the soccer club and couldn’t get enough of it. But, their first friendly in the USA ended in a thumping loss to Premier League giants Chelsea. The club themselves are under rebuilding with Mauricio Pochettino in charge, arriving as the new boss. And one player who docked in this new revolution is Christopher Nkunku.

The Blues won the match 5-0, and Nkunku scored a goal in stoppage time. After that, according to the Mirror, Mauricio stated“The most important thing now is to get good feelings. ‘I think for the possibility today and the different players we have available and I think it’s a position we decide today… we only have Jackson and him with the possibility to play as a striker.” The other striker he mentioned was Nicholas Jackson, who recently arrived from Villareal.

Thus, Chelsea has options moving forward with new players arriving at the club. They have a complete overhaul of their squad in the club and are targeting new goals for the 2023/24 season. Be it the attacking areas of the defensive solidarity, they have invested vast amounts of riches in talented players. But the striker department remains an underlying issue for the club. Since the Romelu Lukaku ship has already sailed, Nkunku looks to lead the Chelsea.

The French soccer player is a top athlete who scores goals out of nothing. In the last two seasons for RB Leipzig, he scored 58 goals and created 29 assists in all competitions for the German club.
