Ever since Messi arrived at Inter Miami, he has been captivating fans with his soccer prowess. The audience in America were desperate to see the World Cup winner in action. Notably, he is also the sole reason for the box office-packed stadium and the surge in ticket prices. Although many also come to the stadium in order to support their respective teams, journalist Tom Bogert doesn’t approve.

The renowned Athletic writer insists today’s match’s attendance wasn’t a wasn’t a Red Bulls or Miami gathering, rather it was a Messi crowd. As soon as the 35-year-old added the Herons’ second goal, he fired up his Twitter and wrote: “Lionel Messi scores to seal it for Inter Miami, 2-0 in the 89th minute. Make no mistake about it: This isn’t a Red Bulls nor a Miami crowd— It’s a Messi crowd.”

Bogert reckons even the away fans came to watch Messi rather than showing support for their side. Certainly, his words are a testament to Messi’s growing fandom in the United States.  Remarkably, he also made it to Times Square despite the presence of Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout.
