“It’s a Family Thing” – Hours After Being Named Manchester United Captain, Bruno Fernandes’ Brother Ricardo Announced as Captain of 10th Tier English Club

Hence, it is imperative for a soccer club to choose the right captain, and Manchester United certainly did it with Bruno Fernandes. After being appointed club captain, he received even happier news from his family. 

Sharing a tight bond with his brother Ricardo Fernandes, the 10th-tier English soccer club where Ricardo plays, gave him a similar honor. The club named him the captain. Hence, the team now looks for inspiration from Ricardo to lead them, as Bruno expressed his delight.

Bruno’s brother plays for Roffey F.C., which currently plays in the Southern Combination Division One. They play their home games at the Bartholomew Way Ground. Thus, they named Ricardo their new captain and shouted out their announcement on Twitter. The club’s Twitter page tweeted, “Guess it’s a good time to announce our new club captain too @_ricardo_1989 in our new @macronhastings home kit!” The picture had Ricardo donning their dark blue jersey as the club acknowledged their new captain. 

To this, Bruno replied, “It’s a family thing” with a red heart emoji to follow. Ricardo later replied to it by stating, “It’s on our blood,” with a red heart emoji of his own. Hence, leadership runs through the veins of the Fernandes, and the two clubs receive charismatic characters to lead them from the front. Bruno recently gave an interview after being appointed the captain.

According to BBC, Bruno stated, “The manager liked my discipline and passion and everything I give. The manager chose me because of what I was doing last season and the way he worked with me. I don’t see why I should change. You have to be as natural as you can.” 

Who is Ricardo Fernandes, brother of Bruno?

The sensational Portuguese midfielder has one older sibling named Ricardo. He played soccer in the streets of Porto and, although not as established as his brother, still plays the game professionally. Yet, Bruno has not opened up and revealed various details about his brother. Even his father played soccer, but not professionally. 

Therefore, the player aims to carry the Fernandes legacy flag flying high by leading one of the greatest clubs in the world. He would be instrumental in the success they have.
