Wrexham AFC finally regained its lost glory by clinching promotion to League Two. Mauricio Pochettino on rebuilding woes he faces at Chelsea
The new Chelsea manager recently talked about the Blues before the club’s pre-season friendly clash against Wrexham in the USA. Mauricio Pochettino is still yet to make his first big signing since joining Chelsea
The Argentine explained that he’s in charge of a young squad and is in desperate need of a striker. Moreover, he’s excited to take charge of his first Blues game against League Two side Wrexham AFC.
After forking out over £600m on new players over the past two windows, fans expect Todd Boehly to raise funds as it will ease the Financial Fair Play concerns. The need to invoke a cohesive change in tactics and squad building after the incoming of 16 players in a year is sure to pose a headache. However, Pochettino is thrilled to rebuild the Blues from zero to top.

In a recent press conference, the Blues boss talked about his experience and the challenges he would face at the club. Moreover, he was also questioned about his future plans which could help the Blues grain fans’ trust.
He said, “It’s a challenge, it’s something we knew when we were becoming in charge of this club. Nothing to complain, it’s an exciting moment trying to help the club to build a different way to operate. Of course, we are confident we are a good squad and ready to compete for big things.

Pochettino also mentions that Lionel Messi’s signing to MLS will change the US soccer dynamics. Furthermore, he showed confidence in the squad ahead of their clash against Wrexham.

Mauricio Pochettino on facing Wrexham AFC
Chelsea squares off against Wrexham in the Florida Cup, an annual international friendly competition, on July 19. The former Spurs boss revealed that he’s having a terrific experience with the squad and staff. Furthermore, the Chelsea boss showed confidence in his team and is excited about his first game for the Blues.
He explained, “So far so good, so happy to be with you here. First game tomorrow, I’m very excited about our first friendly game. When you are in Chelsea, official all the games. Very happy to be here and working with the players and staff and looking forward to tomorrow.”
