Soccer fans around the world were left in shock when Lionel Messi announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to join MLS side, Inter Miami. While many supporters of the Argentine superstar were hoping for a return to FC Barcelona or a massive $1.6 billion transfer to Saudi Arabia, no one expected this twist of fate.

The departure of Messi saw PSG move quickly to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. The French giants have already taken a step in this process by signing the Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte for a hefty sum of $66 million.

Ugarte is regarded as a rising star, with an impressive track record in his previous club, Sporting CP. The 22-year-old midfielder expressed his excitement about joining PSG and the chance to prove himself. In a recent interview, Ugarte stated how thrilled he is to play for the French giants and his ambition to make a significant impact in his new team.

“The truth is that now we have to rest a bit and start thinking about PSG,” he said. “I’m going to a giant club, I still haven’t realized it, but I’m going to try to break everything”. However, amidst all the excitement and thrill of joining a new club, Ugarte lamented the fact that he won’t get the chance to play alongside one of the greatest players of all time, Lionel Messi.

As Messi moved out of Paris, Ugarte spoke about his missed opportunity to share the field with the Argentine maestro. “It’s true that Messi is leaving. It would have been incredible to play with him, but that’s football. I’m very happy,” Ugarte concluded. This certainly is a missed opportunity for the youngster, but he already looks confident about his new journey. On the other hand, Messi and his family are also already preparing for a new life on a new continent.
