Super Paul Mullin made a switch to Wrexham in 2021. The new owners, Ryan Reynolds, and Rob McElhenney, lured the striker to play in the fifth tier with a significant project in the pipeline. Liverpool-born Mullin accepted the offer and joined the Red Dragons. He left Cambridge United after firing them to the third division and winning the Golden Boot of EFL League Two for the 2020-21 season.

His decision raised the eyebrows of many. But it proved a masterclass move for Wrexham, who rode on his 79 goals over two seasons to win the National League and automatic promotion to League Two. Meanwhile, his performances didn’t go unnoticed. Many believe the star striker should play for Wales national team, who lacks prolific goal scorers. Mullin, who is eligible to play for Wales through his grandmother, also feels the time has come.

Maybe one day, hopefully, he thinks I can do a job for them, and I would look forward to trying to do something.” He didn’t hide his excitement. However, his focus is on his game amid all the speculations after the Wales manager praised him recently.
