PSG cruised past FC Nantes with a 2-0 victory. An impressive win for Luis Enrique & Co. just 48 hours after their Champions League tie against Real Sociedad. Yet, the spotlight was on Kylian Mbappe. Reports have confirmed that PSG’s all-time leading goalscorer is set to bid farewell to Parc des Princes at the end of the season. And, an FC Nantes player, who inadvertently played a huge part in PSG’s opener, has paid tribute to the French superstar.
Moussa Sissoko knows the PSG winger well, owing to their time in the French national side. The midfielder has wished his countryman the ‘best‘ ahead of his impending exit from PSG. Sissoko said as per Footmercato, “We will wish him the best in the club where he goes. He is a teammate with whom I shared good times in the France team. I wish him the best for his career.” Moreover, Sissoko believes Mbappe’s exit will hurt many.
He explained, “One of the best players in the world risks leaving the championship, it will hurt a lot of people. It’s his decision, you have to accept it. He will have had the best days of the French championship.” Switching back to the game, Sissoko had made a mistake which led to PSG’s first goal on the night. Lucas Hernandez had unleashed a long-range strike which he unfortunately deflected past his goalkeeper.

Kylian Mbappe, of course, scored the second goal. The Frenchman who came from the bench displayed brilliant skill to nutmeg a defender. This led to him being fouled and receiving a penalty. As expected, Mbappe converted and scored his 32nd of the season.
Hence, fans were puzzled as to why Luis Enrique benched a player in such form. Moreover, there was even speculation that the possible Real Madrid move could have been a factor. However, Enrique clarified the matter.

Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, and Achraf Hakimi were some of the prominent names who were on the bench. Enrique explained his decision, “We played a Champions League match two days ago. Some players lacked the energy to play, so we had to rotate them.” With PSG fighting for all the titles, the Spaniard’s decision to rest and rotate his squad is understandable.

Furthermore, the PSG boss refused to divulge much information on Mbappe’s exit. He said, “I have no information to give you until the parties involved speak publically, I will not say anything.” However, the Spanish tactician did add that “the team is above all individuality.” Hence, it looks like Enrique doesn’t want PSG’s momentum to be impacted by the noise regarding the Kylian Mbappe saga.
