The former England captain visited America to watch the US Grand Prix. However, the former soccer star did not forget to take the side of the city. Beckham expressed his hope that even Las Vegas could host the 2026 Soccer World Cup, as it was not selected as one of the twelve hosts in the US. As the World Cup is the biggest event in sports, Las Vegas deserves such an opportunity, says the Englishman.
According to reports, Beckham said, “It’s always exciting in a World Cup year, but I think now it will be a special moment for it to come to the United States, especially now that I’m part of an MLS team. Las Vegas should host one of the games. Who knows? But if it does, then I think it will be spectacular.”
Beckham claimed that the Nevada city hosting the World Cup would be amazing. He also claimed that World Cup years are interesting in general. But with it being in the USA, Beckham expressed what it meant to him personally, as he is an active part of soccer in America. However, his main hope was to see Las Vegas get that nod from US Soccer, which had excluded it from their list of hosts.

The US will have these cities as hosts: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle. However, the Allegiant Stadium in Vegas was not considered by the federation. But the former Manchester United player feels there could be a chance.

The 2026 World Cup will be hosted jointly by the US, Mexico, and Canada. However, the US is still indecisive about the SoFi Stadium’s involvement, as it lacks the capacity to host World Cup matches. However, the Allegiant can accommodate 65,000 people and also hosted the CONCACAF Gold Cup final in 2021.
