Pep Guardiola’s team’s failure to capitalize on their chances against their opponent ended up in a costly draw that could alter their title aspirations. The game disappointed Haaland’s fans, as he missed a major opportunity where he could have easily scored a goal. However, according to sports commentator Janusz Michallik, the draw was not because of the Norwegian. He said, “Today I think he [Erling Haaland] was more involved in the buildup. A little bit livelier.“
He continued, “Obviously had that chance early on I think in the 13-minute when he missed that sitter when Bernardo Silva played that ball from out left but it was not an issue of Erling Haaland today.” Michallik agreed that the Norwegian had the chance to score an easy goal. However, he still chose to defend himself, considering the nature of the sport.
He later reinforced that the major issue was Manchester City not utilizing the chances they had to score goals. Furthermore, he agreed that the Spurs were in great form, and their right attitude saved them from a colossal loss. Interestingly, Haaland believed that his team was robbed of victory and criticized the referee for his poor decisions.
