Former Scotland soccer player and ESPN pundit Craig Burley has been outright critical of the praise Lionel Messi has been receiving for the past few weeks. While fans can’t stop raving about LA Pulga, Burley has claimed that Lionel Messi’s move to the United States was motivated by money.
“If you had to make the decision on who made the best call, whether it was Messi or Ronaldo. I think it’s Messi all day long. I don’t think Ronaldo is having that much of a great time in Saudi Arabia. But they both went for the money. Let’s not say Messi didn’t go to Saudi Arabia because he was doing it as a free hit to Miami.”
“He is going to get paid well in Miami, so it was a money decision as well. But I think Messi took a different lifestyle decision. He wanted to play in a different League,” concluded Burley.
Burley has been adamant about his views on Messi for the past few weeks. The Scottish legend believes fans are fawning too much over the Argentine. However, Lionel Messi has had a storybook start to his life in Inter Miami, with the Argentine helping the team bag their first silverware.
