The game between Manchester City and Real Madrid was one for the ages. The constellation of players on the pitch was mesmerizing. Players were jockeying and hassling their opponents, and one came on top, Erling Haaland and Manchester City. They defeated Madrid by 4-0, and pundits loved the game of soccer. Haaland joined City from Borussia Dortmund this season and led the way for the team to win various trophies. In a recent interview, he described the game as the best he had ever witnessed.

The team drew plaudits for their irresistible pressing and composure on the ball. Players like Bernardo Silva and John Stones played remarkably well to get the team into the UEFA Champions League final. Significantly, they now remain favorites to win a treble!

In a recent interview, Haaland stated, “When I saw it again, it is one of the few games I have watched again. It is the best first half I have ever seen ever in my life of a football team. And no, you don’t feel like this, but you have the confidence when you are struggling a bit. I look around myself and I see all the good players, all my teammates. And then you get the confidence, directly back.”

Manager Pep Guardiola masterfully crafted a side to endure any opposition. He arrived in 2016 and changed the English game forever. Using patient passing play and playing out from the back has given City the platform to play to their tunes. Although Haaland failed to score in the match, Bernardo Silva scored two goals, followed by Eder Militao’s own goal and a well-placed finish from Julian Alvarez.

The team will meet Italian giants Inter Milan in the final, who look to replicate their success of 2010. For Haaland, he wants to break records and win trophies. Just 22, he is already a world-beater and would probably go against Lionel Messi for the Ballon d’Or race.

A spectacular season for the Norwegian striker

When Sergio Aguero left the club, the club craved a number nine to replace the legend. Safe to say, Haaland would probably go down to be even better than Aguero at this rate. In the current season, he scored 52 goals in 51 games and created nine assists for City. Those are Ronaldo-esque numbers. Never has a player dominated the Premier League like him because he keeps breaking records.

Apart from the devastating finishing, he improved his link-up play, and City has an outlet to target in the Norwegian striker. The other teams are wary of City’s form, and with Haaland, they can dominate European soccer for a long time.
