We are just three days away from what could be a historic clash between Manchester City and Arsenal. Two teams that have been nothing short of stunning this season will look to give their all in attempting to walk one step closer to the Premier League title. Fueled by their failure from last season, Arsenal have been relentless in their approach, with the side maintaining the top place in the standings while scoring more goals than any Premier League side this season. Meanwhile, Manchester City has the chance to etch their name in history. No team in the competition has ever won the Premier League for four consecutive seasons.

Pep Guardiola‘s side has the chance to do so this season following their threepeat between 2021-2023. However, the team’s hopes have hit with a massive setback so close to the finish line. Injuries have been the club’s ‘Story of the Season’. Just when it seemed like the team was raring to go after declaring everyone fit, their words have come back to haunt them once again. While Kyle Walker and John Stones are already out from the Gunners game after picking up an injury during the international break, Phil Foden could also join the list!

According to reports from the Daily Mail, both Phil Foden and Ruben Dias are currently playing through fractures. It is significant news for the fans. While the situation doesn’t seem serious, Foden and Dias have been essential to the team’s success, and their absence could throw the campaign off the rails.

With the injury crisis over his head, Pep Guardiola could be forced to make some notable changes. With Walker and Stones out of action, Josko Gvardiol and Nathan Ake could get the nod for the game. Stefan Ortega has done an excellent job guarding the sticks in Ederson’s absence, but the Brazilian is expected to make a comeback against Arsenal in a massive relief for City. While Ortega is no slouch, the Gunners have been lethal in front of the posts, and Guardiola would feel more comfortable fielding his first-choice goalkeeper for the game.

Notably, Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish were also spotted during the team’s latest training session. The two were absent from their international squads because of their injuries, and it seems like the rest has done wonders for the duo. Similarly, Erling Haaland, who reportedly limped off during one of Norway’s training sessions, has been deemed fit and is set to make an appearance against Arsenal.
