Inter Miami fans have been on cloud nine after Lionel Messi was reintroduced as part of the 21-man squad against the Colorado Rapids. The Argentine superstar after missing almost a month’s worth of action is back into the mix. However, his availability does not confirm his participation in the game with Inter Miami head coach Tata Martino having the final say.

Inter Miami has some crucial fixtures ahead of themselves including the second-leg CONCACAF clash against Monterrey. The Herons preferably would not want to risk Lionel Messi’s fitness this early before the big game. The Argentine could most likely be kept on the bench for the game and only be used in case Inter Miami needs a winner in the closing minutes of the contest.

A few other top names could also be provided a rest during the game. Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets have been a regular part of the starting eleven this season and could be given time to shrug off their knocks against the Rapids. It will be interesting to see the team Tata Martino fields this Saturday with multiple top names apart from Lionel Messi out with an injury.

While their skipper’s return is surely positive news for Inter Miami, the side is still without multiple notable players. Miami will host Colorado Rapids without 7 of their top names with 5 of them a regular part of the first team.

While Facundo Farías, Ian Fray, Sergii Kryvtsov, Federico Redondo, Robbie Robinson, and Benjamin Cremaschi have been out for weeks, Robert Taylor’s injury is an enormous blow for the Herons with the winger hurting his hamstring against Monterrey.
