Can Messi's magic lead Inter Miami to victory against Charlotte FC? What do you think?

Inter Miami going winless has become a surprising sight lately. Lionel Messi and Co. have been firing on all cylinders this season and are the best team in the East, eight points clear of second-seeded Cincinnati. However, the Herons settled for diminishing draws in their last two games and would want a win this weekend to show they are still dominant. Charlotte FC, which blasted New England 4-0 last Sunday, will play Miami this Saturday at the Chase Stadium in South Florida.

This will mark the second and the last regular season game between Inter Miami and Charlotte FC this MLS season. In their previous meeting in July, the Herons had the better of the North Carolina team, beating them 2-1. Miami knocked Charlotte out of the Leagues Cup round of 32 in August. Messi and Co. would want a similar outcome on Saturday, as they won’t jeopardize their race for the MLS Supporters Shield. So let’s discover more about both squads as they line up in South Florida for a sensational MLS weekend.

Inter Miami is in a better place squad-wise. None of their players have been suspended for the Charlotte clash. Anyhow, Miami still has center-back Nicolas Freire on their injury list. He has missed 19 matches due to a cruciate ligament tear and his date of return remains uncertain.

Speaking of Miami’s main man Lionel Messi, there is no chance he will miss the heavyweight weekend game. He quashed his ligament injury earlier this month and played in three matches since September 15. He even played full-time in Miami’s last game against New York City. So we’ll possibly see him lace up before the home crowd again.

Charlotte, too, like Inter Miami, is free of any suspensions for the weekend game. Unlike Miami, they aren’t troubled by any injuries as well.

We expect a tight game considering Miami has been winless in the last two games and Charlotte fired four goals in their dominant win against New England. However, this Charlotte side has twice failed to stand their ground against Tata Martino’s side and conceded two goals each in those two games. So we predict Inter Miami to win 2-1 against Charlotte FC.
