His post brought lots of reactions from the fans over the debate. Although, some fans were not impressed with his Instagram post, because he is one of the ambassadors for promoting the Qatar FIFA World Cup, marred by off-the-field issues. They lashed out at him.

What is this debate all about?

The term soccer originated in England. The sport was known as Association Football in its early days as per the ‘It’s Football, Not Soccer (And Vice Versa)’ book. The book further states that British University students nicknamed it soccer in the late 19th century when the sport was gaining momentum in the US. They adopted soccer as the name for a sport and have continued to use it.

USMNT holds England to a 0-0 draw

It was a big match for the USMNT in the context of qualification for the knockout stage. The loss would have made it difficult for them and England would have qualified. Although the draw was not a good result, USMNT got one crucial point from the game.

USMNT lacked creativity and incisiveness throughout the game. They came closer to taking the lead through Weston McKennie who shoot over the bar from a good position in the 25th minute. Seven minutes later, Pulisic hit the bar. They almost conceded to Mason Mount in the added time of the first half who was brilliantly denied by the goalkeeper.

The second half of the game didn’t produce many clear-cut chances, and the teams went on to play a draw. England still sits on top of the group B standings. Group B is wide open, and all four teams have a chance to progress.
