Inter Miami is plagued by major setbacks. Since the beginning of the year, poor results and a mounting injury list have made the Herons feel like they’re snakebit. Although a recent victory against Hong Kong XI brought relief to their poor streak, injuries continue to haunt them. With three players already sidelined in just five matches, the situation intensifies, as joining the list is the attacking duo of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. As the impending clash against Vissel Kobe is on the horizon, speculation grows over which stars will be absent.
Facundo Farias
The Argentinian attacker was the first blow Inter Miami had. Unfortunately, the injury transpired after he came from the bench for the second-half action during a goalless stalemate against El Salvador. The club revealed that Farias suffered a left ACL (knee) injury and will undergo surgery in the coming weeks. While the actual date isn’t revealed, the youngster is expected to miss the 2024 season.

Benjamin Cremaschi
The homegrown talent became the second blow just before Inter Miami’s 2nd pre-season match against FC Dallas. According to the club’s website, Cremaschi was forced to undergo a sports hernia surgery, which is set to keep him out of action for 2-3 months.
Serhiy Kryvtsov
Kryvtsov became the fifth blow for Inter Miami in yesterday’s clash against Hong Kong XI. The 32-year-old center-back started the game but was forced to leave the pitch at the half-hour mark, getting replaced by Ryan Sailor, who managed to add a goal in the 1-4 scoreline. For now, the club hasn’t provided any updates on Kryvtsov but he can miss the clash against Vissel Kobe.
Luis Suarez
While Suarez played in the first four games, he was deliberately left on the bench for yesterday’s win. According to the reports, the Uruguayan striker is injured with inflammation in his knees. The knock came in the 6-0 thrashing against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr, where he played for over 70 minutes.

Lionel Messi
The Argentinian star also shared the bench with his amigo in last night’s match, despite Tata Martino insisting that he would feature the skipper for a few minutes. Sources reveal that La Pulga is suffering from thigh inflammation, which must have increased after he made a 7-minute cameo against Al Nassr. He is most likely to be an absentee for the Vissel Kobe clash.
