Who’s excited for Game 3 between Inter Miami and Atlanta United? Having clinched the Supporters Shield and a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup, Lionel Messi and his team are now focused on winning the MLS Cup. However, advancing through the playoffs has proven challenging, especially with injuries complicating matters.

Recent updates from Inter Miami’s training camp have revealed both positive and negative news. On a brighter note, star players Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Jordi Alba participated in practice. Inter Miami fans can feel safe in knowing that they are fit to play the match against Atlanta United.

On the downside though, the same can’t be said for 3 other players and among them is none other than Sergio Busquets. Initial reports indicated that he was unwell, but coach Tata Martino denied those claims by stating that Busquets suffered a blow during Game 1 against Atlanta United.

Unfortunately, this injury seems significant since he missed the final training session before the match. David Ruiz and Yannick Bright also did not participate in training. Although there was initially uncertainty regarding their availability for this critical game, The Argentine manager did deliver some disappointing news.

According to Martino, Busquets is still feeling the effects of his Game 1 injury and will sit out against Atlanta United. Moreover, should the Herons win and move forward in the tournament, it’s uncertain whether Busquets would be fit to play then either. Yannick Bright has also been ruled out of this match but there’s hope—if Inter Miami progresses further into the playoffs, he should be able to join back in time.

Is the MLS turning a blind eye to Inter Miami’s antics? Well, this is a question that is being frequently raised these days. Even Brad Guzan was asked to speak on it prior to the big match. The focus this time was on Lionel Messi’s side’s lengthy delay in returning to the field in the 2nd half without facing any repercussions.

“The referee told us at the start of the second half that it goes in the [complaint] report but he even said the league does nothing,” stated the Atlanta United goalkeeper. He further expressed frustration over how he and his team can’t influence this situation, instead emphasizing their need to concentrate on their own performance and challenge Miami effectively.
