Lionel Messi announced himself to the world during his Barcelona days. It is a club he loves. He might not be playing for the Blaugrana, but his love affair will last forever. And the love reciprocates. Barcelona and its fans still adore their talisman, and everyone feels La Pulga needs to have a grand farewell. Out of this, the idea of a farewell game emerged.
Now, Jorge Mas, Inter Miami’s co-owner, has spoken about the same and feels the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner deserves a proper farewell. A Barcelona-related Twitter account, Barca Buzz, tweeted the comments made by Mas. It read, “I don’t know if it’s some type of friendly or farewell game. They have this Gamper Trophy.”
“But there will be something where, hopefully when the new Camp Nou is open, Lionel Messi can say his proper goodbye. That does not entail playing for Barcelona.” Meanwhile, Mas squashed the loan to Barcelona rumors, “He’s not going to go on loan there. That’s not going to happen. Yes, he deserves his correct goodbye there.”
Also, Mas is ready to help make the friendly happen, “Yes, and I will do everything in my power in order to facilitate and help him do that because he deserves that.” But when can we see the farewell game?

To bring the farewell game plan to fruition, everyone might have to wait until then.
It will be interesting to see how things pan out. To see Messi, take Camp Nou field one last time before hanging his boots will enthrall fans. And if it will be the game between Barcelona and Inter Miami, Messi can follow in the footsteps of Pele. The Brazilian legend played his final game in New Jersey.
