Inter Miami was initially scheduled to face Brazilian side Flamengo in January. However, as per the latest reports, this has been canceled considering their participation in the Riyadh Cup. Flamengo instead will be facing off against another MLS team, Orlando City, with the venue likely being the Exploria Stadium.

The fact that Inter Miami has changed its pre-season plan shows the significance of the Riyadh Cup. Dubbed appropriately as the ‘Last Dance’, it will be the 37th time, the iconic superstars face off against each other.

The tournament will use a league-style format with all the 3 teams playing once against each other. The team with the most points will be presented as the winner.

The two rivals also faced off unexpectedly in 2023 in a friendly game. Cr7 was part of the Saudi All-Star XI while the Argentine was a PSG player. The match had a thrilling end, with Ronaldo recording a brace while Messi walked away as the victor. Will we see an even better contest this time around? It’s better to hope so considering the match was almost cancelled in the first place!
