Brazil and Al Hilal star forward Neymar has had to contend with two major injuries this year. Despite signing for Al Hilal in the summer, Neymar was out for nearly a month and a half before he made his debut for the Saudi Arabian club. This was because of an injury he sustained in February while he was at PSG. Fast forward to this week, and Neymar was stretchered off during Brazil’s humbling 2-0 loss to Uruguay. However, after Neymar’s injury, upcoming Portugal and AC Milan star Rafael Leao made a cryptic post on Instagram in support of the Brazilian star.
Neymar’s latest injury in action for Brazil has been reported as an ACL and meniscus tear. This could see him ruled out for the next nine months. It also effectively ended his chances to guide Al Hilal to some silverware this season. Several players and pundits alike have made their comments about Neymar. And now Rafael Leao is the latest to make a comment about the Brazilian soccer icon’s injury.

Meanwhile, several pundits and journalists have also had their say about Neymar’s injury and what it means for the continuation of his career. One particular Brazilian journalist stated that Neymar’s career is now in decline and that he seems ‘fed up’.
Brazilian journalist Mauro Cezar Pereira comments on Neymar’s latest injury
In a recent report, Brazilian journalist and pundit Mauro Cezar Pereira said, “Neymar will be 32 when he plays again, who knows when. So he’s obviously already at another stage in his career and he also seems to me to be a bit fed up, he doesn’t seem like a guy who wants to play – ‘oh, soccer, what a wonderful thing’. No, he seems a bit fed up.”
This comes just a month after another Brazilian pundit named Walter Casagrande suggested that Neymar is, in fact, the ‘biggest wasted talent‘ in soccer history.
While opinions about Neymar remain divided between the media and fans alike, the Al Hilal forward did have something to celebrate this year after he surpassed Brazil legend Pele’s goal-scoring record for the Brazilian national team. Neymar is now Brazil’s top scorer of all time with 79 goals for the Selecao. He now has two more than the late Pele.
