It is with a heavy heart that we report the news of the death of Jeffrey Suter, an 18-year-old soccer prodigy who tragically lost his life in a car accident. Jeffrey was a talented young man who played for his high school team, Bishop McDevitt. He received national attention for his soccer skills and in November he signed up to play for a college team.

Sadly, Jeffrey’s life was cut short when he lost control of his Ford Mustang and crashed on Interstate 81 in North Carolina. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Bishop McDevitt High School is saddened by the soccer prodigy’s death
The Bishop McDevitt Boys Basketball team took to Twitter to share their condolences. “Our condolences to the Suter family. You will be in our thoughts and prayers as our entire McDevitt community mourns. Rest In Peace Jeffrey,” the tweet said along with a picture of Jeffrey.

This tragic news also saddened former Bishop McDevitt athletic director Tommy Mealy. He also knew Jeffrey very well and shared his thoughts. “The Bishop McDevitt community has been affected by the passing of student-athlete Jeffrey Suter,” he said.

Then Tommy added about the influence the teenager had. “Jeff was a great kid and contributed to the school as a student and member of the boys’ soccer program,” he added. “His family helped with many of the program logistics to help the season run during the fall.”

Then Mealy talked about Suter’s achievement of continuing soccer in college and how “he very much was looking forward to that”. “We were all very proud he was able to achieve that goal for his career as he worked very hard through the high school and club soccer circuits,” he said. “Please keep Jeff and his family in your thoughts and prayers.”
