Former Barcelona star Dani Alves has finally grasped the silver lining amidst his ongoing legal battles. The player is currently embroiled in controversies and legal disputes. However, it seems like Alves can put behind one of his ongoing cases. According to recent reports, the Spanish High Court has ruled in favor of the player in his legal battle with the Spanish treasury. Based on the court’s ruling, the Brazilian star will receive $3.5 million from the treasury. It is a gigantic relief for Alves, who is serving time behind bars for the last 300 days after being indicted in an assault case.
The former soccer star was arrested earlier this year in January after being charged in an assault case. While the player has pleaded not guilty, the court has found enough evidence against the player to send him for trial. There are no recent updates on the case, with the trial likely to happen in 2024.

Former Barcelona star Dani Alves will take a sigh of relief following the recent announcement from the Spanish High Court. The High Court has ruled in the player’s favor in his litigation against the Spanish Tax authorities. The court has ruled that the authorities return $3.5 million to the player.
According to the information available, the case dates back to 2014. The Spanish treasury had investigated the player’s profits from his image rights during his time at Barcelona. They reported that, while the player maintained his image rights, he exploited the laws to make additional profits. However, Alves appealed that his salary and profits were under the law.
According to the statements issued by the court, “In two sentences dated October 25 and November 2. The Administrative Chamber of the National Court upholds the appeals filed by the footballer against the resolutions of the Central Economic-Administrative Court (TEAC). Corresponding to the income tax returns of 2009-2010 and 2011-2012, which had rejected his claim against the settlement agreement of income tax for those years and the corresponding penalty decreed by the delegation of Catalonia.”
While it will satisfy the player with how things have turned out from his lawsuit, things have yet to take a positive turn in his assault case. Alves is currently behind bars for three hundred days after being arrested earlier this year in January.

Alves has pleaded not guilty but is ready to go through the legal process to clear his name. The trial dates for the case are yet to be confirmed. However, if Alves is found guilty, the player could face imprisonment from eight to twelve years. The player has applied for bail, but the authorities who consider him as a flight risk have denied his requests.
In hopes of bail, he has agreed to surrender his passport and wear a tracking device. However, it seems like the player’s only way of getting out might be to prove his innocence.
