Everybody knows how good Kylian Mbappe is. Despite not having the popularity of playing in the Premier League or Spanish League, Mbappe remains a showstopper. Tuesday night’s demolition of AC Milan proved that as he opened the scoring for PSG. However, Mbappe’s overall gameplay is beyond just goals and numbers. He makes plays, creates chances, and makes spaces appear. One such moment in the match left a French soccer legend and pundit baffled as Mbappe skipped over a 25-year-old defender.

With fans considering Group F in the Champions League as the ‘Group of Death,’ PSG produced a stunning performance. While coach Luis Enrique previously mentioned winning the Champions League is not a necessity, it clears the burden for the players. With new talents like Warren Zaïre-Emery, Manuel Ugarte, and Ousmane Dembele, something’s brewing in the French capital. Yet, Frank Leboeuf believes Mbappe to be the chief man as he showered praise on him.

In the buildup to the first goal, Mbappe used insane skills and ball manipulation to leave Milan center-back Fikayo Tomori on the grass. Former French soccer player Frank Leboeuf applauded the sublime skill to force the first goal. While many criticized Tomori for not defending aptly, he went the opposite route by praising Mbappe and stating that it was his ability, instead, that put him on the backside. He added that rather than stopping Mbappe, Milan should have focused on Zaïre-Emery from passing to the speedy forward.

It makes perfect sense when Mbappe has 5.19 progressive carries and completes 2.46 take-ons per match, as per FBRef. Rather than stopping Mbappe, the best option would be to cut the supply.

To quote Leboeuf, who appeared on ESPN, “When Mbappe has the ball and is 15 yards away from the goal, it’s impossible to cope with him”.

Fikayo Tomori, the English center-back, had a rough night. The Mbappe and Dembele duo proved to be too much for him. However, people criticized him impulsively while downplaying his role in the Serie A title victory. There is still plenty for Milan and Tomori to look forward to.
