The Saudi Arabian soccer league seems to be getting addictive now. After the influx of so many players, even coaches do not want to leave the place. But Al Hilal’s coach, Jorge Jesus, is very straightforward about his preference. He recently mentioned a reason why he would never want to leave the club.

The Saudi Pro League has invested approximately a billion dollars in its last summer transfer window. The focus is not just on bringing in the best players for the reputational and visual appeal of the league but also on improving multidimensionally. Therefore, bringing experienced personnel like sporting directors and coaches has also been a plan for the Middle East.

Being at a nascent stage compared to other European leagues, the Saudi Pro League gives Jesus an opportunity to prove his value. Using this opportunity, Jesus revealed that he wants to make full use of it. The 69-year-old was reported to say he wouldn’t leave the club for money. The Portuguese coach stated, “I will not leave Al Hilal for money, I am the highest-paid coach in the world.”

Jesus rejoined Al Hilal for a one-year contract until 2024. He previously had a term with the Riyadh-base club in the 2018–19 season, where he led them to a Saudi Super Cup win. However, the situation is much different now, as Al Hilal has a stronger team and greater expectations. Unlike his last stint, rival teams have also upgraded with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, and quite a lot of other top-class players.

The club, on the other hand, has been generous in pouring out money to compete with the best. The club was ready to pay even a billion dollars for the likes of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, but they denied it. But eventually, they went and signed Neymar for $418 million. But with all the spending, the club does not seem to compromise on the quality that he can provide.
