It’s been a little over two months since Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United. And in that time, the team has turned its fortunes around in a big way. After a poor start to the season, it looks like United is recovering and looks like is finally back on track.

The red devils have delivered a string of outstanding performances with their most notable win coming against arch-rivals Man City. Manchester United is sitting in 4th position in the Premier League with Champions League qualification well within grasp.

But the star who played the biggest role in this Man United transformation is the talismanic English forward Marcus Rashford. He has scored 10 goals in his last 10 games and is the highest-scoring player in all of Europe since the end of the FIFA World Cup. Manchester United coach, Erik ten Hag, had some things to say about his star’s performance.

Erik ten Hag, instead of commending himself, gave all the credit to the 25-year-old for his newfound form. “I’m not Harry Potter! It’s just confidence. Every player has to make his own confidence. He fought for this, he invested in this,” Ten Hag said.

“Of course, with my coaching staff, we bring in structures, especially in the way of play, that give him routines he needs to get into the right position. But finally, it’s up to him, to the player, and when the player has the confidence then I’m convinced”

He further added, “The way of play is most important but the environment and culture are also important, then the player can perform at his best. It’s obvious that Marcus at this moment is in really good shape, really good form.”

Cristiano Ronaldo does not “respect” Erik ten Hag

Cristiano Ronaldo’s controversial exit from Erik Ten Hag’s coaching didn’t end on a pleasant note. In the controversial interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo slammed the Dutch coach, saying, “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me.”

The interview, which led to Ronaldo’s eventual exit from Manchester United, caused quite a stir. In it, Ronaldo was critical of ten Hag’s coaching methods, saying that the coach didn’t want him on the team. After the interview, Ronaldo was released from the club and the Portuguese icon has since gone on to join the Saudi Arabian outfit, Al Nassr.
