Marcello Hernandez, an American comedian who is part of the TV show Saturday Nights Live, has shed his views on soccer in a recent interview. The comedian tells about his favorite soccer club, Real Madrid, and the US national team. He wanted to play soccer, and it was his childhood dream.

Hernandez joined the SNL cast this year. The show is in its 48th season. Apart from SNL, the comedian has joined hands with McDonald’s for a comedy TikTok series on soccer, “futbol”. McDonald’s has launched the series as a tribute to the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

Marcello Hernandez, while speaking to Distractify, gave insights about his early life, college life, and his love for soccer. He has played soccer since he was four years old. He was in love with the game. Hernandez believes soccer is a big sport followed worldwide and has brought people all over the world close. As such, the World Cup is exciting for the comedian.
While speaking about his favorite club, he was quick to mention European giants and arguably the best club in the world, Real Madrid. He said, ” I’m a Real Madrid fan … And despite that, you know, I want the United States to grow. And, you know, my dream as a little kid that grew up in Miami was to one-day play for the national team. So I want the US to move forward and to always get better. And this year, we have some players that have been playing in Europe. So you know, between Real Madrid and the US, I have some teams to root for.”

Although he also roots for the US national soccer team and was his dream to play for them. Now, the comedian is focused on the TikTok campaign for McDonald’s and the 48th season of Saturday Night Live.
