Manchester City and John Stones haven’t come close to replicating their treble-winning form this season. The English defender, who impressed everyone with his ball-playing skills has had an injury-ravaged campaign so far. He did play against Aston Villa but did not enjoy a good outing. The tie against Luton Town will be an important game for the defender to bounce back. Also, it is a match in which Stones is set to compete against one of his childhood pals. John Stones set for a reunion with childhood friend and Luton Star

The match against Luton will see John Stones reunite with his childhood mate Jordan Clark. However, the 30-year-old winger of Luton is not going to make things easy for the defensive anchor. Clark recently revealed his exchanges with the treble winner. The winger said, “He said he can’t wait and I can’t wait either. I just told him to watch out because I’ll try to nutmeg him and take the Mickey.

Clark also revealed that John Stones contacted him after Luton’s win in the play-off final. The Hatters star revealed that the Manchester City man was in disbelief that they would be playing against each other. He added, “He (John) said, ‘We’ll have a right laugh out on that pitch’ and all that. That’s just the way he is.

The winger also gave some insight into their friendship which started from Barnsley’s academy. As per Clark, Stones used to visit his grandmother’s place every Sunday for dinner. Moreover, he talked about how the defender was into gymnastics while at school.

Amid the exciting reunion, he does have some ideas on how Manchester City can get back to winning ways.

Stones highlights plan for Manchester City

Following their dismal defeat against Aston Villa, the defender added that the Sky Blues must harness the pain they are going through to turn their campaign around. This is the first time since 2017 that Manchester City have been winless in 4 games.
