Former Manchester City star and ex-English international Micah Richards has made a name for himself following his career. The player has transitioned into one of the most beloved soccer pundits across Europe. In a recent podcast with ‘The Rest is Football’, Micah Richards lavished huge praise on David Beckham.

Micah touched down on his first time interacting with David Beckham. The former Manchester City defender claimed that he respects players but he is never in awe of a player. However, Beckham was one of the players that made him just stand and watch what was unfolding in front of him.

“I was eighteen coming into the England squad. Honestly, I don’t get starstruck. I respect players and whatnot. But, I was just looking right at him in awe. It was like it wasn’t real, like everything. I played with him. I’ll give it to him. He used to say ‘Just f**king overlapped it son, I’ll f**king find ya.’ It was brilliant playing with Beckham. He used to caress the ball in training. I used to look at him and be like ‘You are unbelievable aren’t you?,'” said Richards.

 

While David Beckham has positioned himself as a universal superstar, people often forget how good of a soccer star he was. The midfield made 115 appearances for the Three Lions throughout his career, scoring seventeen goals in the process.
