Hal Robson-Kanu took to social media to address a special public message to the Wrexham co-owners. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are yet to publicly respond to the message. Robson-Kanu wrote, “@vancityreynolds I’ll come out of retirement and come and play for @wrexham_afc next season. I’ll also give my salary to the charity of the fans choosing”.
It seems like quite a selfless act by Robson-Kanu. The soccer veteran had ‘the moment’ of his career during the 2016 Euros. He scored a goal of a lifetime during a 3-1 win against a fierce Belgium team. Before cooly slotting the ball into the back of the net, the Welsh winger got rid of the likes of Fellaini and Meunier through a whole turn inside the box. It was truly a spectacular moment for the Welsh winger and his national side.
A few years after scoring one of the most iconic goals in Welsh soccer history, Robson-Kanu bid farewell from the sport in 2021. However, he’s seemingly offered Reynolds an undeniable offer for next season.

Without a doubt, Ben Foster’s comeback from retirement has inspired Robson-Kanu. Foster’s story is inspiring in itself. Recently, Foster revealed Rob McElhenney’s incredible passion for the club. The veteran goalie revealed that the co-owner did everything he could to convince Foster. On Fozcast, Foster said, “He’s just talking me through games that they might’ve drawn or this going forward, what he wants to do”.
“Or where he wants to get with the club. And I’m like mate this is class. I want to be a part of helping you get there as well”. After handing Yeovil Town a major 3-0 thrashing, Wrexham now inches closer to automatic promotion. With just two games left in the normal season, not securing the #1 spot just seems untenable from this point.
