“I’ll Check With My Husband..” – Wrexham Owner Rob McElhenney’s $50 Million Worth Wife Kaitlin Olson Had a Cheeky Response for Investing in 143-Year-Old English Club

Wrexham has taken center stage in soccer by storm. The club’s popularity has been off the charts ever since it came under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The club was once wedging its way through the Nations League, but now they are at the top of its division.

It has been both Reynolds and McElhenney who have led the club to endless glory and fame. Thanks to them, Wrexham has truly become a global brand. They have become the true definition of success as owners of a soccer club.

Seeing the Hollywood duo’s success as Wrexham owners has surely inspired other affluent people to invest in sports teams. Some might even be thinking of buying a soccer club, while others are getting cheeky requests from the fans.

Rob McElhenney’s wife asked to buy the Championship side

And recently, Rob McElhenney’s wife, Kaitlin Olson, got that kind of request from a Preston North End fan. Katlin, along with fellow Hollywood star Woody Harrelson, gave an interview earlier this month for their new film, ‘Champions’ to a broadcast journalist, Jonny Nelson.

Hence, while asking questions, Nelson took his shot, saying, “Woody, have you ever considered overseas sports ownership?, because I know a lovely little club in the north of England called Preston North End that could really use some Hollywood sparkle.”

However, it wasn’t the response he wanted, as Harrelson replied, “Well, I never thought about getting into it, but now you have piqued my interest. But I do love Wrexham and I don’t want to compete with them, so probably I’m not gonna do that.”

When the same question was put in front of Olson, she said, “I’ll check with my husband, maybe he’s interested.” Indeed, it was a cheeky response from the actor.

Nelson even posted a glimpse of the interview on his Twitter with a hilarious caption, “In the face of our nonexistent transfer budget, I thought I’d start putting the feelers out amongst celebs for [Preston] investment. Starting with Woody Harrelson and Kaitlin Olson. A long, humiliating road ahead, but when Taylor Swift steers us to the prem, you’ll thank me.”

Wrexham continues the title push

Perhaps Woody wasn’t much keen to buy the club, but Olson’s remarks do raise eyebrows after she jokingly suggested her husband might buy it. But it seems McElhenney is quite happy at the Racecourse Ground, as they are close to achieving glory.

The Red Dragons are preparing for tomorrow’s clash against Bromley. They are currently four points clear of their rivals, Notts County, and they’ll be looking to extend their lead. Whereas Bromley will be looking to disrupt Wrexham’s title charge. Either way, it’s going to be an interesting one.
