There are not many soccer stars who have maintained their high levels at the age of 38 like Cristiano Ronaldo. However, for this, the Al Nassr star has made sacrifices of different things in his playing career. But, as far as Eden Hazard is concerned, the Belgian made it clear that he would have burned himself, if he tried to play like the Portuguese forward.
Despite the change in decades, retirements, and generations, the legendary forward remains at the top. These are levels of ambition, the five-time Ballon d’Or has maintained to shut down every challenge that has come at him.

There have been several instances when the new Real Madrid signings have taken the name of Cristiano after being asked whose success would they like to replicate. However, only some have been able to include the same levels. Whereas, the rest of them have moved on from the club. One of them is former Los Blancos star Eden Hazard. The former Belgian was asked recently whether he would have loved his mentality to be like Cristiano Ronaldo. He replied, “No. It wouldn’t have been me. After training, immerse yourself for an hour in the cold bath, no. Leave me alone, with my friends, let’s go home, play cards, and have a beer. I play for two hours with my children in the garden. It was my recovery. If I had been like Cristiano, I would have been burned myself.”
The comments from Hazard prove what Real Madrid missed even after signing the Belgian for a huge fee. Eden Hazard unfortunately was unable to be a success with Los Blancos after getting the move. Injuries played an important part. Hence, last year, he decided to retire from his club and national career after his contract expired with the La Liga giants and after the 2022 World Cup nightmare.
There is no doubt that Eden Hazard does not regret the decision to retire. However, as far as the mentality of Ronaldo is concerned, the former Belgian star is not the first one to praise him.
