Every soccer player dreams of playing for their national team. It is merely their patriotic feeling toward their country that entices them to shine for their international side and make fellow countrymen proud. With the same ambition, Wrexham star Paul Mullin is also keen to make a name for his nation.

Despite having a remarkable season with the Red Dragons, which backed him to get into the national team, he hasn’t received a call-up. While he believes someday it may happen, the striker recently received a major update on his international call-up.

Everyone has been backing Mullin to play for Wales. While the national team hasn’t broken their silence on the topic, Wales manager Rob Page has given a positive update on his future. Recently, Page was asked about Mullin’s call-up, and he had some promising words for the striker.

He said, “If he’s playing in League Two and he’s scoring goals, then we will look at him and consider him.” It seems this is a test from Page that he has given to Mullin. The Welsh gaffer insists that if the Wrexham star continues with his goal-scoring antics, he might be considered for a call-up.

Indeed, it is a sign that the national camp has started considering the 28-year-old. After all, Mullin deserves to play at the international level. The striker has scored 112 goals in 3 seasons, out of which 78 have been scored for Wrexham in 2 years. Furthermore, he also won this year’s FA Cup Golden Boot.

His numbers speak for themselves, as his supporters are keen to see him in a Wales jersey. In fact, recently, a Wrexham legend also backed him for the same.

Former Red’s player and manager Brian Flynn is looking to take Mullin’s call-up into his own hands. The ex-Wales star sat down for an interview with Fearless In Devotion-Wrexham AFC Podcast. There, he talked about his absence and what he must conjure up to get a call-up from the national team.

“I will take Paul Mullin to Welsh hotel with his boots and say to the manager he’s training with you for next two to three days. Just let him train with you. Have a look at him close hand,” said Flynn. The esteemed manager believes that Mullin’s participation in the fifth-tier league should not be a significant factor.

He also pointed out the case of another renowned Wrexham figure, Andy Morrell. According to Flynn, players’ ability to score goals is what truly matters, rather than the specific level of soccer they compete in. Indeed, his words must have brought a smile to Mullin’s face.
