One such emerging star could stun fans and make a surprising switch to the Saudi Pro League in the upcoming transfer window. Despite being a target for Spanish side Real Madrid, the $73 million defender could make a big switch if everything goes as planned.

According to the player’s agent, the soccer star could dawn an Al Nassr or other SPL outfits. Despite being one of the staunch followers of Lionel Messi since his childhood, the player could make a massive paycheck if he follows Ronaldo’s footsteps. A lot of big names across Europe have opted to move to the Middle Eastern league for big-money deals in the recent transfer window.

Alphonso Davies could snub Real Madrid and join Cristiano Ronaldo

Alphonso Davies has emerged as one of the top youngsters in the world following his exploits at Bayern Munich. The player is a key figure for the team and has attracted a lot of attention from other European sides. However, while the Bavarian side would be uninterested in selling their star player, Spanish side Real Madrid is said to be keenly interested in the $73 million defender’s services for next summer.

The side has been looking to strengthen their defense and has identified Davies as one of their top targets. However, according to his agent Nedal Huoseh, the Canadian could snub Los Blancos and move to the SPL instead to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr. “I love Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr team, but the rest of the teams are good as well. Alfonso will play with Ronaldo? You don’t know, anything can happen. I think Cristiano will play more than Messi. He is the best.”

While Davies’ agent Nedal Huoseh did not shy away from calling Cristiano Ronaldo the best, the Canadian defender has surprisingly always idolized Lionel Messi. In a recent clip, the fullback touched down on his love for the Argentine.

Alphonso Davies, who often streams on Twitch, has often spoken about his love for the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner. During a video with trading card company Topps, the Canadian star talked about how he grew up idolizing the Argentine World Cup winner.

“I’m a Messi fan. I’m just gonna put it out there, I’m a Messi fan. I have idolized him ever since I was a kid. You know, watching football for the first time, you know he’s the guy that caught my eye. Playing this game that I love, just watch him play and you’ll see why.”
