Over the years, US soccer has grown exponentially, and it continues to do so. It has had some of the best talents on its side. The craze of soccer has taken over the whole country as young talents are emerging day by day.

Even the USMNT carries some of the best talents, that represented the country in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The squad was led by the likes of Tyler Adams, Sergino Dest, and Christian Pulisic. Besides paying for their national camp, several USMNT sensations are doing wonders on the domestic front. The likes of Reyna, Pulisic, and Dest are already settled well in their domestic sides.

US Soccer star wants to play in Italy

On the list of such starlets also comes Timothy Weah, who is currently playing for Ligue 1 outfit, LOSC Lillie. The player started his career as a winger but later transitioned into a left-back.

The player recently expressed his desire to play in Italy and insists on playing for Serie A giants, AC Milan. “Of course, I’d like to retrace my dad’s footsteps. It would be something great to play for Milan. I’ll keep going on my way and then we’ll see.” said Tim.

The winger had kind words for the Serie A side, “Milan is in my heart, the club gave everything to my father and my family. His past with Milan is fantastic, Milan is a great club, it’s the story of my family.”

Tim’s father, George Weah, played a crucial role for the Rossoneri back in the 1990s. Moreover, he was the first and only African to win the Ballon d’Or in 1995 while wearing Milan’s jersey, who is currently the president of Liberia.

What’s next for Tim Weah?

Weah is currently representing Ligue 1 side Lille. The 23-year-old started his career at a US academy, shortly after getting into PSG’s youth system. The player also went to Scotland to play for Celtic, but later sealed a permanent transfer to LOSC Lillie.

When talking about his future, the player said, “I don’t like talking too much about the future also because right now I’m focused on Lille. I just want to help the team and work hard, then we’ll see. Nobody knows what will happen in the future.”

The youngster has won four league titles, two with PSG and the rest with Celtic and Lille, respectively. Besides winning other domestic cups with these clubs, he also won the CONCACAF Nations League.

For now, the player is serving the Ligue 1 giants, who will be traveling to Lens for the league clash. Paulo Fonseca’s side is currently sitting in 6th place. Perhaps in the future, we might see the starlet wearing an AC Milan shirt.
