The former United superstar said, “There were players in our team who would have got into this City side. Paul Scholes would have been perfect, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic too.” “I believe I would have fitted into it as well — and I would have loved to play with Kevin De Bruyne and [Erling] Haaland,” Rooney said while making his case and snubbing Ronaldo.

Recent times have seen the former United superstars firing shots at each other. It all started with Cristiano Ronaldo giving an explosive interview with Piers Morgan. The Al Nassr forward criticized the club, manager, youngsters at the club, and former United players. Rooney was one of those players. Ronaldo took a rat jibe at all those former players who criticized him.
However, snubbing Ronaldo is a bold claim. Rooney was talking about the 2008 United side that won the Champions League, though. Ronaldo made a significant contribution to that campaign. Over the years, the Portuguese got the name Mr. Champions League for his incredible performances in the competition.
